Part 1: Going with Your Heart

LABOR DAY 2009: Here I am writing you on Labor Day 2009 and am remembering finishing my first novel exactly 2 years ago this holiday weekend in a 25-hour stint. Don't think that will occur this year...I was trying to finish POOKOO then. This year echoes what fellow Bread Loaf alumn Robert Frost said, "I have miles to go before I sleep."

I have Chapter 1 for review to a literary magazine...Chapter 1 would really give you a good look at the tone of WAITING FOR THE END.

I started out writing a 9-11 novel...

and it's become more, which is good. We are so much more than the sum of that day. I do hope to get back to THE PILGRIM COMMUTER. The PILGRIM book is a lot lighter (obviously) than WAITING. But I had to go with my heart and when the muse called and this spring (May 2009) it was knocking on the door waiting to be told.

The main character...

is named Benton and he's different from any other character I've devised. His Twitter page is under construction at http://www.twitter.com/bennington63. Won't you join?
